Congratulations on your acceptance to the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University! You undoubtedly have a number of questions and concerns as you consider your decision to enroll at Duke University for the fall 2014 term. Please join us for a special weekend designed to help you get the information you need to make your very important enrollment decision.
Admitted Students Visitation Weekend (ASVW) officially begins Friday, March 21 at 9:00am with opening remarks from Dr. Bill Chameides, Dean of the Nicholas School. We have planned informative sessions intended to give you a well-rounded view of the Master of Environmental Management and Master of Forestry professional degree programs and life at Duke University. You will have an opportunity to learn more about our dual-degree programs, funding and career services opportunities, resources beyond the classroom, as well as attend a sample class or participate in a field-skills project. The weekend will conclude Saturday, March 22 with a panel presentation facilitated by Dean Chameides, an option to attend a hike or tour in the Duke Forest that afternoon and a School-wide picnic, which will end the weekend’s activities.
Should you need a place to stay while in Durham, our current students will do their very best to provide you with overnight accommodations and act as your host. Many of them have extra beds, sofas, futons, comfortable floors, and extra blankets. If you would like a student host, please indicate that information on the registration form. If you prefer to find your own accommodations, we've included a list of local area hotel recommendations below.
Do not pass up this great opportunity to get to know the Nicholas School of the Environment and Duke University. Now is your chance to get answers to all of your questions. This is an event you don’t want to miss. Once again, congratulations on your acceptance to the Nicholas School and we look forward to seeing you March 21 and 22.
