Tap Into Our Expertise
When you become a Nicholas Fellow, you gain access to the
researchers and research facilities at one of the world’s premier
schools for environmental science and policy.
With about 50 core faculty members, the Nicholas School is small
enough to be a friendly, close-working community of scholars –
a place where researchers will know who you are and will be glad
to make time for your questions and interviews. Yet our research
and policy expertise is among the broadest you’ll find at any
environmental school in North America.
The scientists, social scientists, economists, policy analysts
and environmental law experts on our faculty will help you gain
a fuller, more balanced understanding of environmental issues
in the news today and the basic science underlying them, including:
| • Global climate change
• Environmental toxins and public health
• Biodiversity and endangered species
• Land use and sprawl
• Environmental law and policy
• Marine depletion
• Air quality
|
• Water quality
• Forest management
• Fisheries management
• Genetically modified organisms
• Invasive species
• Deforestation
• Wildfire management
|
At your Fellowship’s end, you’ll return to your beat with the
knowledge you need to bring a new clarity, accuracy and depth
to your reporting.
