Pilkey
Fellowship in Coastal Studies
The Orrin Pilkey Fellowship in Coastal Studies was
established in 1999 to honor and perpetuate the work
of the widely admired James B. Duke Professor Orrin
Pilkey. Established by colleagues and friends in the
Division of Earth and Ocean Sciences, this pooled
endowment supports the work of a graduate fellow continuing
Orrin's work in coastal processes. Every gift will
be matched by The Duke Endowment while matching funds
last.
Joseph
S. Ramus Fund
The Joseph S. Ramus Fund provides an opportunity
to have a significant impact on the health of the
Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds. Established by the Marine
Lab Advisory Board in 2000 to honor Dr. Joe Ramus,
the long-time director of the Duke University Marine
Lab, the Fund will provide research grants and equipment
for Duke University faculty and students researching
environmental issues in the Albemarle and Pamlico
Sounds.
Matching gifts may
be used to increase your donation to these funds.
