Employment and Internship Data

Graduates of the Nicholas School of the Environment make a difference every day. Our graduates are purpose-driven individuals who look beyond themselves to pursue a career that makes a positive contribution to the environment and the world. They are employed around the world and across all sectors. They are in business, not-for-profit organizations, consulting firms, government agencies, research institutions, think tanks, and entrepreneurial enterprises. The Career and Professional Development Center prepares students in each stage of their career development process, including career advancement, through our Career Readiness Curriculum.

Salaries vary widely depending on the type of employer, individual qualifications, previous experience (length and type), job location, and the employment outlook. For those who pursue a concurrent degree (MPP, MBA, JD) in conjunction with the MEM or MF, the employment profile will often vary from those pursuing a single degree. We encourage you to visit our alumni profiles to explore the employment diversity of our graduates as they pursue their passion.
