**This course requires a great deal of walking (several miles a day) in a very warm and humid climate. Students in this course should be comfortable walking between 5 & 13 miles per day. If you know that you are physically unable to do this level of activity but would still like the experience, contact ritt@duke.edu immediately and we will have a conversation to discuss.
