First year Duke students are invited to visit the Duke Marine Lab to spend an afternoon touring the Beaufort campus and surrounding area. Duke Marine Lab faculty, graduate students and staff will serve as guides for students as they tour, cruise and enjoy a few good meals together. Please bring closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes, a refillable water bottle, and sunscreen. Let us know when you RSVP if you have dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten/lactose intolerant, etc.)
The bus is expected at the Duke Marine Lab in time for lunch at 1 p.m. The bus will leave Durham no later than 9:15 a.m. (see full schedule below). Please arrive at the bus stop by 9 a.m. to get a seat. Thank you for being on time! The East Campus bus stop is by Main Street, close to West Duke Building by the Washington Duke Statue.

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Break Into Three Groups)
- Welcome to the Duke University Marine Lab
- Campus Tour – Explore the Marine Lab campus
- Boat Tour – Explore Beaufort and surrounding area
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. BREAK: mingle with current Duke Marine Lab undergraduates, discuss classes and research, see dorm rooms
5:30 p.m. Dinner in the Dining Hall
6:30 p.m. Bus departs from Beaufort
10:30 p.m. Bus arrives on East Campus
