Her talk will be in room 2102 of Environment Hall, at 9 Circuit Drive on Duke’s West Campus.

Calling on her background as a corporate principal running her own consulting firm and a representative on multiple corporate boards, Hill will talk about how considering inclusion in any work setting can create a stronger workplace. She'll address what good managers do to develop emerging professionals into leaders who create impact. This free talk will provide insight into her background and she'll share what prepared her to become a leader of influence.

A Q&A with audience members will follow Hill’s talk. Glenda Lee, director of alumni relations, will facilitate the discussion.

Prior to her role at Hill Family Advisors, Hill was owner and vice president of Alexander & Associates, Inc., a corporate consulting firm, as well as special assistant to the Secretary of the Army and a research mathematician for a consulting firm serving the U.S. Navy. She received a bachelor of arts from Wellesley College and a master of arts in mathematics from the University of Chicago.

Hill serves on the boards of numerous corporations, including Dean Foods, Inc., Carlyle Group, Esquire Bank and Green4U Technologies.

She also serves on nonprofit boards for the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.  She is the former chairwoman of the Women's Campaign Fund, the only bipartisan national PAC raising money for women running for federal, state and local offices.

She was elected to the Duke Board of Trustees in 2006.
