Nic At 25

The 25 years since the creation of the Nicholas School of Environment at Duke have been filled with momentum and milestones. Since its founding on July 1, 1991, an enduring spirit of inquiry and innovation has led the seeds of this school, planted in the 1930s, to blossom into a multi-faceted program that has opened new doors to environmental understanding and stewardship.

In 2016, join us as we celebrate the 25th anniversary (#NicAt25) of the convergence of the Duke Marine Laboratory, School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and the Department of Geology that resulted in Duke’s rising reputation as a premier institution for interdisciplinary environmental education, research and real-world impact. Each week we will be sharing #‎throwback photos of life at the Nic School over the past 25 years here and on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Have something to share?

If you have a photo of your experience at the Nicholas School and want to share it, send it to us and tell us who is in the photo, what year, and describe what is happening.
