Katya Hantel is a director in GolinHarris’ geoImpact sustainability practice, developing communications strategies promoting environmental, social and philanthropic initiatives for Fortune 500 companies and global organizations. Clients include Alcoa, Aveda, Dow, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Mondelez International, Tetra Pak and Underwriters Laboratories. Her work on has won the 2012 PRSA Bronze Anvil award, as well as finalist recognition at the 2012 PR Week awards and PR News’ 2010 Platinum Award for Green PR.

Katya has served as a corporate sustainability consultant, developing strategies to improve operational and supply chain sustainability and managing public/private partnerships with academic institutions and U.N. Global Compact. Prior to her work in the private sector, Katya served as an advisor to the City of Cleveland’s municipal sustainability program and managed regional clean energy educational programming for Green Energy Ohio, a state chapter of the American Solar Energy Society. Katya has a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in environmental policy from Washington University in St. Louis. She is an accredited LEED associate by the U.S. Green Building Council, and lives in Chicago with her husband Nicholas and daughter Nadia.
