Client-Based Projects
Carbon Tax Research, City of Boulder, Master’s Project
Evaluate how the City of Boulder can optimally design a municipal carbon tax in order to achieve a steady source of revenue to implement its Climate Action Plan. Fall 2017–Spring 2018.
Energy Audit, Duke University Facilities Management
Conducted a full energy audit of the Sanford School of Public Policy Building. This entailed data collection and analysis, energy auditing, spreadsheet-based energy modeling, consideration of occupant behavior, identification of alternative measures, calculation of financial savings, and presentation of the final recommendations. Spring 2017.
Professional Experience
Clean Energy Policy Intern, North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association, Raleigh, NC.
Stakeholder Engagement. Worked collaboratively with NCSEA's government, business, and nonprofit members to develop deployment strategies for a variety of clean energy sectors in North Carolina, with a particular focus on energy storage and electric vehicle financing and project development.
Research. Conducted background research on topics relating to military micro-grids, battery storage, biogas, and electric vehicles.  Presented results at the clean energy stakeholder meetings. Designed a presentation on energy storage given to the North Carolina Building Performance Association. Summer 2017.
Climate Change Policy and Opinion Research Assistant, Duke University, Durham, NC.
Research. Conducted background research and used STATA statistical software to analyze the interplay between California’s state and regional climate change policies and public opinion. Built a database of 15 years of survey data originally collected from the Public Policy Institute of California. 2016-2017.   
Sustainability Outreach Coordinator, Auburn University Cooperative Extension, Anniston, AL.
Grant Writing/Project Management. Wrote and received $85,000+ in grant funding from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management to grow the Northeast Alabama Recycling Partnership and start a recycling program at Jacksonville State University. 
Environmental Communication/Outreach.  Delivered environmental education to public and school audiences; presented at professional conferences and workshops. 2014-2016.
