Career Interests

I want to use my technical skills to work as a team and as an individual to design watershed level water quantity and quality management plans, collaborate on stream and wetland restoration design projects, prepare NEPA impact statements, and assist with ecological assessments and wetland delineations. In addition, I want to strengthen client services by informing the client of plans by creating interactive online maps to share data and decisions as well as strengthen relationships by meeting face to face with clients, communities and landowners.

Professional Experience

Environmental Intern, HNTB Corporation Indianapolis, IN
Analyzed vegetation, soil, and hydrologic features in 15 wetland delineations over the span of 4 field trips. Prepared NEPA documentation to be used as supplemental documents in 15 Categorical Exclusions. Prepared a Water’s of the U.S. report for a study site, and conducted the project from early data collection and field work all the way to report write-up and submittal. Assisted with a major Environmental Impact Study by helping with geospatial impact analysis as well as public outreach. Worked closely with environmental planning and transportation planning team by communicating plans, methods, and problems. June 2016 - August 2016
Research Assistant, Duke Wetlands Center Analytical Laboratory Durham, NC
Assisted with the analysis of water samples for Unfiltered Total Phosphorous, Filtered Ortho-Phosphorous, Nitrate, Ammonia, Fecal Coliforms, Total Suspended Solids, and Conductivity for five restoration projects. Assisted with field work and water sample collection. Work both as a team and as an individual to analyze samples. Follow and revise Standard Operating Procedures. September 2015 - May 2016
Research Assistant, Center for Restoration of Ecosystems and Watersheds Norman, OK Conducted over 40 fieldwork trips, collecting over 400 water and soil samples between 2 different field sites. Programmed 2 different auto-sampling systems. Analyzed water samples with 4 different laboratory methods. Researched stormwater best management practices and used research to write a literature review used by Robert Nairn, PhD in a wetland treatment study that was submitted to the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. Reviewed and formatted over 50 abstracts submitted to the American Society of Mining and Reclamation annual conference. May 2013 - July 2014
