Energy Efficiency Intern, North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association, Raleigh, NC
Co-authored a $135,080 grant proposal to the Gold LEAF Foundation to initiate a hands-on solar energy internship program. Analyzed energy savings after the initiation of an energy efficiency program in ~80 low income homes in North Eastern North Carolina. May 2017 – July 2017 
 
Graduate Researcher, Duke University: Environmental Life Cycle Analysis & Decision (3 credit course), Durham, NC 
Conducted a life cycle assessment for one of REI’s products, and identified environmental ‘hot spots; shared results with client. Modeled environmental impacts of product using OpenLCA software and Excel, and created a bill of materials for supply chain analysis. Wrote an Environmental Product Declaration and presented recommendations to REI on how to increase product sustainability. January 2017 – May 2017

Managed a $60K creek restoration project that cleared a creek of litter, transients, and non-native vegetation. Supervised Alpha Project crewmembers clearing vegetation; assisted crew in categorizing native and non-native plant species. Wrote status reports to the Office of Grants and Local Services of the State of California to inform the project’s budget expenditures and progress. Reviewed waste management plans, negative declarations, and environmental impact reports. Researched for a proposed beverage containers bill and a pharmaceutical product stewardship bill. Surveyed a three-story building due for renovation, and estimated the amount of salvageable and non-salvageable items in tons. August 2013- June 2014
