Volunteer, Chesapeake Bay Foundation
Educated elementary students about oyster biology and ecology. Assisted and educated volunteers in events. Collected shell from restaurants for the Save Oyster Shell program throughout Maryland. Helped deploy shell onto restored sanctuary reefs. Practiced GIS techniques. (September 2016-June 2017)
 
Volunteer, Maryland Department of Natural Resources Striped Bass Program
Collected size data and scales on over 700 striped bass from pound nets in the Sassafras River. (October 2016)
 
Intern, Chesapeake Bay Foundation Oyster Restoration
Performed monitoring of oyster tanks at the Maryland Oyster Restoration Center. Maintained and operated the Patricia Campbell, an oyster restoration vessel. Helped deploy shell and reefballs onto restored sanctuary reefs. Performed sample spat counts for oyster tanks. Assisted and educated volunteers in events weekly. Collected shell from restaurants for the Save Oyster Shell program throughout Maryland. Set oyster larvae in tanks. Set up aquarium displays for volunteers. Operated a Bobcat. (June-September 2016)
 
Volunteer, Severn Riverkeeper
Performed weekly water quality monitoring on the Severn River. Collected dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature and secchi data at 15 sites. Analyzed dissolved oxygen data for hypoxic and anoxic conditions. Created dissolved oxygen profiles for all sites. Harvested marsh plants and collected data at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. (May-August 2015, May-August 2016)
 
Volunteer, Magothy River Association
Sampled and analyzed yellow perch larvae in the Magothy River. Performed water quality monitoring along the Magothy River. Collected dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, pH and secchi data. Helped repair an oyster nursery at Cape St. Claire, MD. Helped with setting up and running MRA events including March for the Yellow Perch and Magothy River Day . Helped with the filming of the Magothy Water Trail. (May-August 2015, April 2017)
 
Volunteer, Annapolis Maritime Museum
Educated middle school students about Chesapeake Bay topics including water quality, ecology and pollution • Removed trees from bioswales and removed overhang branches from trails for new education building. (October 2016-March 2017)
