The Wetland Center Welcomes Visiting Scholars to Duke

Two visiting scholars have joined the DUWC ranks for 2019.

Xiaoxin Sun is an Associate Professor in the School of Forestry/Wetland Research Center in Northeast China in the Northeast Forestry University, China. He is also the assistant director of Heilongjiang Sanjiang Plain Wetland Ecosystem Research Station China. Dr. Sun studies greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from fresh water marshes and peatlands in permafrost regions in China. He also works on restoration of degraded wetlands restoration in these regions. Sanjiang Plain Research Station monitors long-term trends of wetland system structure and function in Northeast China.

Bolong Wen is an Assistant Research Professor in the Key Laboratory of Wetland Ecology and Environment, Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Changchun, China. His research focuses on wetland science and ecological engineering, particularly wetland restoration and rational wetland use.
