Over the weekend, we finished our DSL 120 survey and deployed the transponder net, which allows us to have more precise navigation of the ocean floor for Jason II and Alvin work. We had a science meeting and a briefing on Alvin operations. After an initial Jason II deployment, a technical problem was identified and the vehicle was brought back on deck. After a few hours of work, we redeployed Jason II and by early Monday morning began our detailed photographic and sampling survey of the ocean floor.
