DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment and Sanford School of Public Policy are ranked third in the nation for graduate programs in environmental policy and management, according to the new U.S. News & World Report 2020 rankings released this week.
The Nicholas School offers Master of Environmental Management (MEM) and Master of Forestry (MF) programs, and the Sanford School offers a Master of Public Policy (MPP).
Student in the programs can take courses and work closely with faculty at both schools, or pursue concurrent MEM/MPP or MEM/MF degrees.
On-campus MEM degrees are offered in seven concentrations: business and environment; coastal environmental management; ecosystem science and conservation; ecotoxicology and environmental health; energy and environment; environmental economics and policy; and water resources management.
The Nicholas School also offers the online Duke Environmental Leadership Master in Environmental Management (DEL-MEM) for working professionals. The DEL-MEM program was named the nation’s “most innovative” online master of environmental management program by the independent graduate program ranking site, OnlineMasters.com, earlier this year.
